First of all, The Sound of Music is one of my favorite movies. However, the rest of the blog has nothing to do with solving problems like Maria, but it does hit on a few of my favorite things. I love food. I also love having friends over and talking. When you combine these three ingredients together, it's a recipe for a happy Megan.
Our latest adventure in doing ministry here in SL is starting a cooking class. Ashley and I both love cooking and baking, and since that is a huge part of women's life here on the island, we think it's a win-win. (See...food, friends, talking, happy, happy Megan!). Many of our mus. friends have expressed interest in learning how to make different "american sweets" such as cakes and "chocolate biscuits". (Chocolate biscuits are what they call chocolate chip cookies. They would be pretty surprised by our version of biscuits). They also said they wanted to learn how to make pizza and...wait for it....BBQ chicken. :)
We also wanted to be intentional with this cooking class, using it as an outreach to our people group. While the different items are cooking/baking we'll open the time up for talking/sharing bible stories with them. This past week, we had our first class with three of close friends, and a new friend. Ash and I were both nervous and not sure what to expect but PTL it went really well! Here are a few of the photos from this past week.

These girls are excited about learning new items each week and told us they were planning on inviting other family and friends and coming again next week. As much fun as it is to bake some of our favorite foods, we love being to hang out and share life with these girls. We were mostly excited about how "story/sharing time" went. Please be in prayer as we will be hosting this every week. We have HIGH expectations as to what our Father is going to do through this and our last four months here.
