The Rohrs made it to South Asia!

This past week, my dad and stepmom flew over here to hang out with me and Ash on the island for a week.  It was my dad's first time out of the country, so I was pretty excited to see how he would react and what his thoughts were about my new "home".
"Megan...South Asia just has a funk about it.  You have so many different smells going on that it all mixes together to form the smell of SL.  You have exhaust, mixed with strange food, mixed with garbage and incense burning to create that funk."  - Larry Rohr

I had to laugh at this comment because it is in fact true and a very good observation.  However, despite the overload of different smells and sights, they loved it.  We showed them around doing some of our normal everyday life things, as well some touristy vacation things.  (Thanks rents for staying somewhere with a pool!!)  I took them to a local market where we buy our fresh produce, and to the crazy shopping district where you can buy just about anything you would want.  They were able to stick their toes in the Indian ocean, have a cooking lesson with our sweet house helper, ride around in tuk-tuks, visit our sweet Mus. friends, and worship with us at our national church.  All in all it was great time having them here.

View from the rents hotel room.  SL looks very peaceful from up above.  Also, someone needs to wash those windows.
