Pirates in South Asia

So one of my closest friends came to visit this month and it was wonderful!  We picked her up REALLY early from the airport and then kept running the whole time she was here.  Here are some photos from her trip.

I always enjoy riding in tuk tuks with people who aren't used to them...I don't know if that's mean or not.  :)

We traveled to the GIANT ROCK, or Lion Rock as some call it.

See the giant wasp nests??  As you're climbing there are signs saying "In case of wasp attack, remain calm" and "Quiet! You might disturb the wasps"...needless to say we were slightly nervous and really wondering who would actually be able to remain calm in a wasp attack.

This was our view from the top though...beautiful and wasp free :)

We took Anna shopping.  Here's Ash and I looking through the many stacks of shalwar tops. Colors, and sequins and beads Oh My!

Shopping in Pettah is overwhelming and crazy and you always have to watch out for others...especially others carrying giant things on their heads.

Got to hangout in the Indian Ocean

We got to introduce Anna to our friends who make hammocks and paint coconuts.  :)  He's got a sweet beard.

We took a trip to an orphanage with some people from our church one day.

However, the best thing was being reunited with my fellow pirate.  I loved getting to just hangout and talk and laugh with this girl.  It was such a blessing to have her here.
